Hi Alan,

That's great news!

I'll be contacting all the exhibitionists early in the new year.

Maybe we should bring our 7 1/4" gauge "2 foot Gauge Mogul" - the Sweet Creek - to the show.  Hmmmm .. how to get it through the  door???

Hi Russ
Thanks for the reminder - I won't be able to make it to the show until after the loco is in place.  ;D ;D
Seriously though - you are on your own when it comes to moving that little loco.

Hey Russ,

That's a fabulous idea!

There's a small field behind the Schomberg Community Hall.

Perhaps a small loop of track could be assembled so that the train could be run...

Ok now we are getting some where - I would like an area to run live steamers in 7/8ths scale too please - ideally indoors - promise not to run any coal fired engines. Will settle for outside if needed although the big engines really stink up the place. Sorry Russ :-P

I proposed that haf in jest since the engine is so large.  We do have a portable track but need to scrap the obsolete trailer we have been using to date and a new one wouldn't likely be ready for the NGM.

There is also a problem in that the track must be really level so unless a conrete or tarmac pad is available (at least 65 feet by 65 feet for a circle and up to 65" by 300" for an oval) setting up is really hard work a, needs a ballast job uner the track and not really practical for a one day event.

We will likely do the Milton Steam Era Show next year but it is a four day event which makes the work worthwhile.

We can only operate my 0-4-0 2 foot gauge prototype Romulus on this portable track as the radius is too small for the more massive 2-6-0 Sweet Creek.

I have an portable G-Scale oval track designed to run steam engines around it that I have brought to prior NGM's.  Happy to bring it to this one.  It is about 4 foot by 8 foot in size.

Ferd: Maybe we can persuade some of the "Wednesday Night Pot boilers" to come and operate their live steam as well

Ron: The Pot Boilers have a nice portable track as well that is bigger than mine (guess: 8 feet by 10 feet).  Should we consider inviting them to bring theirs instead of mine .. would we have the room?

Hi Kids,

Wednesday Night Pot Boilers...

It's too early to be certain.

However, it is a case of first come, first served.

Gee, what a terrible situation for a show planner to have more exhibitors than space.   ;D

I would expect that we can accommodate an 8' x 10' loop.

We don't usually get too deep into planning until after the holidays.
