[NGM] Call for Home Layouts
« on: January 21, 2010, 12:54:23 PM »
Narrow Gaugers,

We are considering the expansion of the fifth annual Ontario Narrow Gauge Show.

We are looking for volunteers to open their doors for Home Layout Tours.

On or after Sunday April 18, 2010.

If you have a Narrow Gauge Model Railway Layout that you would like to share, let us know.

The visitors who have paid admission to the Narrow Gauge Show will be provided with a guide to home layouts on Saturday April 17, 2010.

The guide will include directions to and discriptions of the home layouts, along with date(s) and time(s) for visiting.

The guide will include a Waiver of Liability to protect the Home/Layout Owners and the Narrow Gauge Madness Gang.

We'll only go ahead with this plan if we can round up several layouts in order to make organizing the tour worth while.

Volunteer Home Layouts will also be required to sign a Waiver of Liability.

Dear Tin et al,
I volunteer my humble efforts at building a layout for inclusion in the Home Layout Tour. My location is approximately at the junction of the 404 & 401.

Hi Don,

I was hoping that you'd volunteer.

Thanks.

Hi Kids,

So far we've got four layouts for the Home tours.

Is there anyone else interested in opening their Narrow Gauge Railway Home Layout to touring?

Hi - I recall a very nice On30 basement-size layout on the Doubleheaders Tour - based on the Kaslo and Slocan in BC, it is quite complete and would be ideal. John Cantwell at jcantwell@sympatico.ca is in Eastern Kitchener. Too far? I've only met him once but he's had the open-house thing going already, so great for us! Thoughts?

Hi Davis,

Logistically, one layout is in Beamsville and another in Peterborough.

Two in Toronto and one in New Market.

Those are far opposite ends of the Golden Horseshoe.

So, in the greater scheme of things, Kitchener isn't that far off...

Hi - well, I cleaned the track and ran a couple of trains, did some switching, and my dream is to get some scenery started but I'm reluctant to show so much blue foam and questionable trackage to the public! I'm also intending to work on the Feldspar Co display and don't think I have time for both. If the miraculous happens and I get a lot done, I'll let you know! I have a vision, at least...
