Ron, Chris & Gang,Further Clark Kooning's invitation to hold the 2010 Ontario Narrow Gauge Show in conjunction with the NFR Convention, all of the response on this NGM_Admin forum has been in the positive, pending working out a few details, which don't seem to be insurmountable. It IS a great, ONE time, opportunity to really promote our show and expose it to a whole new batch of Ontario (and beyond) modeling crowd, as well as, test the waters for a multi-day show at a larger venue than good ol' Schomberg, with layout tours, etc. Why ONE time? ... simply because Clark is running the NFR show next year, he's a narrow gauger and a member/supporter of Narrow Gauge Madness and sees this as an opportunity for NGM.Ultimately, the decision as to go with this or not, rests with YOU the members and staff of Narrow Gauge Madness and the Ontario Narrow Gauge Show. Clark is basically waiting for our input as to what we desire in the way of space and the rest of the details of combining the shows and to what degree of separation (or not) between the shows. (i.e. separate admission for each with a combined admission for both shows; separate layout rooms and contest areas, layout tours, clinics, etc) Knowing our requirements will assist Clark in finding suitable facilities, so obviously we need to start thinking about the whole deal really soon.As far as updating the Narrow Gauge Madness website goes, the ONE thing we REALLY need to do, regardless of where we go with the 2010 Show, is sort out the payment/finances thing and set-up a PayPal account that deposits payments to our show directly into whatever bank account we choose, this ain't rocket science and is totally secure, so long as we handle our PayPal password information properly. Ideally, ONE person should handle all the incoming payments and registration of vendors and exhibitors to streamline the process and avoid confusion. We should also NOT have an option of "payment at the door" and no, having only cheques by mail as payment is not an option with modern internet banking, PayPal makes payment simple fast and secure. As I'm writing this from a remote computer off in the Northern Ontario wilderness, I don't have access to my list of e-mail addresses, and as some of the Narrow Gauge Madness gang may no longer be following what's going on in this Yahoo group, could one of you re-send the questions/possibilities regarding the 2010 Show out by e-mail to all the Narrow Guage Madness members. Thanks,Peter
