Billerica and Bedford RR
« on: January 09, 2009, 07:39:13 PM »
Probably one of the shortest railroads as far a duration in time goes. Did not even make it through the first year before going bust. Of course its interesting that a 60k railroad was sold to a Mr. Brown in Hew Hampshire for 9K.  Oddly enough it was the brother in law of G. Mansfield who built the railroad. hmmm..  :o   If you like Maine two footers this in one great book. It is dedicated to covering the Billerica and Bedford and the Sandy River RR up to before it became the SR&RL RR. The book is published by Christian Cenac and has a ton of highly detailed drawings in various scales. 1/87  1/32  and 1/13.5. The link to the book is : http://cenac-france.com/en/index.php?  It is a wonderful must have to any two foot library. The large prints in the background are scans I have scaled to 7/8ths - the book itself is in A3 format and the larger drawings are broken up into several pages.

Hi Ferd,

Wow, those drawings are great.  Really helps the scratch builders when things are laid out so clearly.

The book is not cheap and worth every penny. Each item is broken down in truck parts, frames, details etc.. very handy when scratchbuilding.

cheers Ferd
